Will Etna Township voters empower two more years of circus style meetings and lawsuits or begin to clean up the mess?  Most residents I have spoken with blame either Mark Evans or Rozland McKee for the in-fighting. Whatever the truth, the voters will have a chance to replace or retain Evans and McKee in late 2025. The matter at hand is whether we elect twice-defeated Gary Burkholder to embolden Evans’ written threats or elect the only candidate that is not a known associate of Evans in the race that seeks to bring stability to the board, Trent Stepp. The level of animosity and tension presently among the trustees is astonishing. Dateline Opinion & Sarcasm 10-17-2023 Burkholder: I was for warehouses before I was against them. It seems Mr. Burkholder, the politically promiscuous wannabe trustee, in Etna Township, Ohio has had a miraculous healing of his past flings with warehouses, developers, and TIFs to help orchestrate the fiction that he has always been for keeping Etna Rural. Burkholder and his running mate Mark Evans will say or do anything to get back in power (expelled by voters in 2008 and rejected in 2012). Now Burkholder & Evans want to extend the grief and as always, truth is the first casualty. Gary is no stranger to tortured truths. Yet, even for a Burkholder-Evans whopper this is rich.
