Ballman Rd Letter sent by Jon Hanson

This letter mailed to my neighbors caused the latest proxy attack from the Burkholder Gang. In their attack nothing in the letter is mentioned. As with all tyrant’s symbolism is more important than substance.

Neighbor:

Hello, my name is Jon Hanson. I have been a resident of the Etna Reynoldsburg area for over 20 years. My family moved to Reynoldsburg in 1966 when I was a boy. I have owned land in Etna since 1991; and in 1999, I built a house. I currently live in the old part of Royal Acres, which is located just off Mink Street.

I have a simple request. Would you kindly consider voting for my friend Trent Stepp for Etna Township Trustee? I have attached his short bio, which was provided by his campaign.

In contrast to the other candidates, Trent has served Etna for the last 20 years.  In addition, he is active in his church, devoted to his family, and volunteers with various youth organizations. Trent engages the four traits of leadership and character: 1. Integrity; actions and words align; 2. Positive Engagement; 3. Humility and ability to learn from past experiences; and 4. Courage and Consistency.

The candidate attacking Mr. Stepp daily is Gary Burkholder, who was elected to serve as Trustee in 2004.  He was then defeated in 2008 and again in 2012.  During his tenure as trustee, Burkholder supported the building of warehouses, which he now decries.  As president of the board of trustees, he scheduled meetings such that the only woman trustee could not attend due to commitments for her children, only to ridicule her for not attending meetings.  History is well-known, which led to him being voted out. The Township should expect more of the same should he be re-elected now.  His campaign manager, Mark Evans, is desperate to get him elected so they can control the considerable township treasury and fund their ambitious lawsuits against whoever does not agree with them (Evans stated in his own leaked messages). Burkholder’s 30-year resume floating around has everything except a continuing relationship with employers or voters.

Davis’ only stated service to the community has been to serve on a board created by the Licking County Commissioners and as a resident volunteer on the comprehensive planning committee.  Those positions are not without merit, but they do not qualify Mr. Davis (who has been a longtime supporter of Mark Evans) for community leadership. Perkins’ sole qualification (per the Advocate article) for serving as trustee is an unsuccessful bid for political office.  Like Davis, he served on the comprehensive planning committee.

The better choice by far is Trent Stepp.  He is a proven leader.  He has been a project manager for Salas O’Brien for 23 years.  He served on the Etna Township Zoning Commission for 10 years and has been on the Etna Township Board of Zoning Appeals for 7 years, serving both as a member and as chair.  Like the other candidates, he served on the comprehensive planning committee.  He keeps his commitment and handles meetings without grandstanding and virtue signaling.  Trent follows the proper procedures and is not fueled by revenge and personal vendettas. The bio included provides a more extensive and complete list of his accomplishments.

Thank you for your consideration.  This letter is from me and not from Trent’s campaign, and I have personally covered the cost of copying, materials, and postage.
